Celebration weekend for IHF at Lloyds Pharmacy stores nationwide

Lloyds Pharmacy stores donate 2% of all weekend sales to Irish Hospice Foundation 

There’s plenty of fun at LloydsPharmacy this September and an opportunity for you to support the Irish Hospice Foundation. 

There’ll be all manner of fun and games going on in-store with everything from face-painting and colouring competitions to tombola’s and refreshments as the company celebrates its partnership with the Irish Hospice Foundation over the weekend of September 18th – 21st. The company will also donate 2% of all sales from their 83 stores nationwide to the charity for the duration of the weekend.

Speaking about the weekend, Goretti Brady, managing director, LloydsPharmacy said, “We’re all really looking forward to the weekend. It will be great to enjoy the fun with our customers and communities and know that we’re raising money for this really important organisation who carry out such critical work in our community”.

Speaking about the partnership, Sharon Foley, CEO of the Irish Hospice Foundation, thanked Lloyds for their support and wished them well with their celebration weekend. ‘’We do not receive any core funding from the State so partnerships like this are very important to us and vital so we can continue with our work. We also look forward to spreading the message of what we do through LloydsPharmacy’s extensive network of stores all over Ireland.”

Irish Hospice Foundation saddened by the death of Dr Geoff King

The Irish Hospice Foundation are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dr Geoff King.

CEO Sharon Foley, on behalf of the IHF, offers her sincere condolences to Geoff’s family saying “The support and expertise which he offered to the Irish Hospice Foundation was greatly appreciated and will be missed but always remembered. Ireland has lost a great advocate for better end of life care.”

 Geoff was also a member of the National Council of the Forum on End of Life in Ireland. Chair of the National Council, Mrs Justice Catherine McGuinness said “All the members of the National Council will mourn the loss of Geoff. He made a most helpful and energetic contribution to the work of the Council and we will greatly miss his good humour and his cheerful smile. Our sincere sympathy goes out to all his family.”
