Job Description

We are seeking to fill the role of Education and Training Facilitator for End of Life Care Programmes. Reporting to: Training and Business Development Manager Location: Irish Hospice Foundation Education and Training Section, Morrison Chambers, 32 Nassau Street, Dublin 2. Permanent - Part time - 4 days per week (0.8WTE)

Job Purpose

This post will involve the facilitation and delivery of a range of IHF education and training workshops in end of life care and bereavement. These workshops are designed to support health care staff in the delivery of the best end of life care for patients/residents and their families. This role will also involve contributing to the development of new programs as required.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Deliver and facilitate of a range of existing End of Life Care (EOLC) and bereavement education and training workshops on an outreach and in-house basis
  • Deliver and facilitate Train the Trainer courses for IHF EOLC and bereavement workshops
  • Contribute to technology based learning including webinars and e-learing as appropriate
  • Develop new EOLC and Bereavement education and training workshops/programmes as required
  • Design and develop education and training resources for the EOLC and bereavment education and training workshops as appropriate
  • Contribute to the promotion and marketing of IHF education and training workshops
  • Updating of IHF Education and Training Database and Website
  • Working closely with the Training and Development manager/team on all matters related to training and education workshops
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum of three years experience in a similar role
  • A passion for, and a commitment to, the delivery of the very best person centered, end of life care, which enables people to live as fully as possible to the end
  • Demonstrable understanding of the principles of education training and design
  • Significant experience in delivery of a broad range of education and learning approaches
  • Significant experience in working with a range of group participants and group sizes
  • Sound understanding and interest in end of life care and bereavement
  • Excellent facilitation and group management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong organisation skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Fully proficient in MS Office
  • Knowledge and experience of Moodle LMS
  • Good writing/editing skills
  • Clean driving licence and own car
  • Ability to work flexible hours
This is a permanent part time position (4 Days per week) and salary will be commensurate with experience.
