At Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF), we place enormous value on education in relation to end-of-life care, loss and bereavement.
Education is relevant to all who provide support to people facing death in hospitals, nursing homes and the community, as well as those who support people who are bereaved (e.g., nurses, doctors, GPs, social workers, bereavement volunteers, psychotherapists, chaplains, psychologists, physiotherapists, and frontline staff).
We are delighted to announce our Scholarship Programme for the 2024/2025 academic year.
We offer a small number of scholarships up to the value of €3,000 each to applicants from acute, nursing home and community health sectors, including counsellors/therapists in private practice, as well as applicants from general voluntary community/sectors.
Here’s what two past awardees said about how their IHF scholarships impacted their studies:
This made such a difference – in lots of ways. I promptly bought a computer, relaxed that the course fees were now at a more manageable level due to my reduced income and felt affirmed in my decision, and even perceived ability, to do the program.
As a busy mother of three small children, I was able to concentrate on my studies, as due to this support, I didn’t need to take on additional working hours in order to pay my fees.
The closing date for applications is May 31, 2024. For further information about the scholarships, eligibility, and how to apply, visit: Scholarships in End-of-Life and Bereavement Care.
