5 Ways to Support Irish Hospice Foundation This Christmas

An image with text that says, "5 ways to support Irish Hospice Foundation this Christmas."

We’d like to thank you for your continued support throughout 2024. Your kindness ensures our vital programmes and services — such as Nurses for Night Care, the Bereavement Support Line, and our new Information and Support Line — continue to reach people across Ireland facing end of life and bereavement.

There are many ways you can get involved and support our work this Christmas. We’re running a few events and campaigns in memory of the ones we’ve lost and in support of those who are bereaved. We also encourage you to check out our online Shop for Christmas cards, reindeer food, and other gifts.

Whatever way you can give this Christmas, your support means the world to us.

1. Join Never Forgotten Night Run on 5th December

Join us on 5th December to run 5km at 5:00 p.m. for the Never Forgotten Night Run. You can walk, jog, or run wherever you are in the country. This event is an opportunity to remember ones we have lost and support those who are grieving.

By paying a €25 registration fee, you will receive an exclusive Never Forgotten Night Run Beanie Hat. Upon signing up, a personal iDonate fundraising page will be automatically created, reflecting your €25 fee. You can use this page to raise additional funds and support our vital services.

2. Light a Candle in Memory on 15th December

If there is someone close to your heart you’re missing this Christmas, we invite you to join our Light a Candle in Memory event on 15th December.

Make a donation of €20 or more and you will receive a unique In Memory Christmas Care Pack, which includes a candle for you to light on 15th December.

You can light your candle at any time of the day that suits you — whenever you have a quiet moment to yourself or if you are with a friend, whenever you feel comfortable.

3. Share a Memory for Our Book of Remembrance

Do you have a precious memory of the person you’re missing most this Christmas you’d like to include in our Book of Remembrance — a favourite song, saying, book, place, or even a joke? The very act of writing down a memory keeps our loved ones alive.

Make a donation today, and share your memory. We’ll handwrite it our Book of Remembrance 2025, where it will remain always.

4. Visit Our Christmas Shop

Cards, reindeer food, giftsets, and more. Our online Christmas Shop is open.

Irish Hospice Foundation Christmas Cards are for sale online and available in over 250 stores across the country. A pack of 8 cards is €4.99 or €6.99 depending on size.

Our Magical Reindeer Food is a gluten-free and nut-free recipe of oats and magic dust to help Santa’s Reindeer find their way to your home (€2 per pack).

5. Make a Donation

A simple, yet very meaningful, way you can support Irish Hospice Foundation is by making a donation. Your generosity, no matter the amount, will support people across Ireland facing end of life and bereavement by helping fund our vital programmes and services.

Whatever way you choose to support Irish Hospice Foundation this Christmas, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your generosity.
