Pledge to Plant Sales in Full Swing

Pledge to Plant sales have been happening up and down the country since the start of June – from stalls at local markets and mini garden parties in back gardens, to honesty boxes in offices, community centres and front gardens. We have been absolutely overwhelmed with the creativity and enthusiasm that this year’s participants have brought to this fundraiser and we are so very grateful for the support.

Pledge to Plant is our new fundraiser that gets everyone growing plants and then sharing them in aid of our Nurses for Night Care programme. It is open to everyone – young and old, individuals and groups, schools and businesses – whether you are green-fingered or a complete newbie to plants and gardening. It’s the brainchild of Kathy Whyte who was inspired to set up this unique fundraiser in memory of her mum to acknowledge the wonderful hospice care she received in her final days and also her mum’s love of gardening and flowers.

To thank our amazing Pledge to Plant participants, we are entering everyone who returns their sale donations to us by the end of June into a draw for a €200 Voucher for Ballyseedy Home & Gardens. For more information on how to get funds to us please visit our Pledge to Plant hub.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors: Ballyseedy Garden Centre in Tralee; Grow it Yourself (GIY) in Waterford; Gingko Flowers on Baggot Street in Dublin and The Garden at the Powerscourt Townhouse in Dublin who provided vouchers, grow kits and beautiful bouquets as prizes for Pledge to Plant participants.

Pledge to Plant continues until the end of the month, with most public sales happening at the weekend, so this weekend is the last weekend and maybe your last chance to contribute! So hurry over to our Pledge to Plant Sales page to find your nearest local sale.

Some Pledge to Planters who are still waiting for flowers to bloom have asked if they can continue to sell their creations throughout July which of course is fine with us! Please reach out to Emma or Louise, email: [email protected] if you would like any extra stickers or posters to help promote your sale.

And finally, we are so proud to share some of the gorgeous images that have been coming in over social media and email and once again thank you all for your support.
