We are delighted to have our team of door-to-door fundraisers out on the road. These professional fundraisers sign up new monthly donors to help fund our vital services, such as Nurses for Night Care and the Bereavement Support Line.
The team are easily identifiable by their branded clothing and always carry ID. Like us, they believe no one should face end of life or bereavement without the care and support that they need. They are calling to doorsteps to help make a real difference.
Our door-to-door representative Michael is currently fundraising in:
- Offaly
- Laois
- Tipperary
- Kilkenny
- Westmeath
Frequently Asked Questions
Door-to-door fundraising is when a fundraising representative goes house-to-house in residential areas asking the public to sign up for a monthly direct debit donation. This type of fundraising is widely used in the charity sector.
At Irish Hospice Foundation, we have an in-house door-to-door representative and we also work with third-party agencies. They engage in both residential (i.e., door-to-door fundraising) and private-site fundraising (i.e., podium stands in shopping centres).
Door-to-door fundraising is a core part of our fundraising and a proven method of raising vital funds for our work in end-of-life and bereavement care. Your committed monthly donations give us the reliable support we need to plan our programmes and services in the short and long term.
Irish Hospice Foundation is a member of Charities Institute Ireland, and we adhere to their Fundraising Codes for Direct Recruitment, which includes door-to-door fundraising.
Our fundraising representative currently working door-to-door is Michael. He’s currently fundraising in Offaly, Laois, Tipperary, Kilkenny, and Westmeath.
IHF’s door-to-door representatives will wear a blue jacket with our logo on it and carry an ID badge. They will introduce themselves and ask if you have a few minutes to spare to hear more about our work. They will be happy to tell you how your support is making a difference to people facing end of life and bereavement across Ireland.
They will ask you if you’d like to make a regular monthly donation by direct debit. They will never ask for cash donations. (One-off donations can be made using the donation form on our website or by cheque payable to Irish Hospice Foundation.)
Our fundraisers will always carry IHF identification cards and wear IHF-branded clothing (i.e., shirt or jacket). Our sunflower logo will be clearly visible on their bright blue jackets.
You will receive a welcome call from a member of our Fundraising team. You will also receive a welcome pack in the post providing you with more detail about the work we do.
