About Never Forgotten Night Run 2023

This November, we’re asking you to support Irish Hospice Foundation by taking on the Never Forgotten Night Run 2023.

This is a chance to remember loved ones we have lost and support those that have been bereaved. You can walk, jog or run either a 10km or a 5km, wherever you are in the country. Everyone who signs up and sets up a fundraiser will receive a Night Run Arm Band

End-of-Challenge Medal

To receive your end-of-challenge medal, you must:

  • Step 1: Complete either your 10km or 5km on Saturday 25th November 2023.
  • Step 2: Post an update of your completion on your personal Facebook fundraising page on Saturday 25th November.
  • Step 3: Have a minimum €20 in donations in support of the work of Irish Hospice Foundation on your personal Facebook fundraising page.

How You’ll Be Supporting IHF

All funds raised will support our work in end-of-life and bereavement care, including the Bereavement Support Line. This is free national service, 1800 80 70 77, available Monday to Friday (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.). The service aims to provide connection, comfort and support to those who have been bereaved. It will continue to operate throughout Christmas and into the New Year. Thank you for your help in making that possible.

How will the money I raise help Irish Hospice Foundation?

To help show how your participation is making a difference, we will share stories and updates via the Facebook Group and by email that tell you how you’re making a difference to the people we support.

When will my Night Run Pack arrive?

You’ll receive your Welcome Pack by post before 25th November. If you have any questions, email Emma on [email protected]

What’s in the Night Run Pack?

Included in the Night Run Pack is your bright yellow ‘Never Forgotten Night Run Arm Band’, your welcome letter and details on our bereavement support services.

Can I take on this challenge as part of a team?

Of course! Doing a challenge with others is motivating, fun and can be a brilliant team-building exercise. If you’d like support getting your community or workplace involved, please email Emma at [email protected]

Do I have to set up a Facebook Fundraising page?

No, but they are a very easy way to fundraise. Because the funds raised are lodged directly into the IHF bank account, it means you don’t need to worry about collecting, recording or lodging. Also, Facebook kindly doesn’t charge any fees, so we get 100% of what’s donated.

If you would prefer to fundraise offline, you can request a sponsorship card by emailing Emma at [email protected]

I’m not on Facebook. Can I still take part?

Yes! Please contact our Fundraising team at [email protected], and they will organise your Night Run Pack and provide you with details on setting up your own iDonate fundraising page.

How can someone not on Facebook donate to my fundraiser?

Anyone can donate even if they are not on Facebook. Share the direct link of your fundraiser with them, and they can enter their details. Alternatively, here are other options for them to support your fundraiser:

  1. They could give you cash / transfer funds (via Revolut, PayPalMe, Online Banking, etc.) and you can add the donation to your fundraiser yourself.
  1. They can donate directly to IHF on our Donate page. If they do this, please ask them to choose “Night Run” in the appeals dropdown menu.

Someone I know accidentally donated via my Facebook page. Can you refund them?

Unfortunately, we can’t issue refunds through Facebook, but people can request a refund themselves from Facebook by following the below steps:

  • Send them to Facebook’s Get Donation Support page.
  • Select – I donated to a fundraiser on Facebook
  • Select – I want a refund for my donation(s)
  • Select – I made a donation by accident and request the refund.
