In Memory Donation
If you’d like to make a donation in memory of a loved one please visit our donate page.
Choose ‘In memory of’ in the Appeals menu to add the name of your loved one. Their name will be recorded in our beautiful Book of Remembrance. We will send you a letter of acknowledgement, and if you like, we will also send a letter on your behalf to the family or other nominated recipient, to let them know about your kind donation.

If you donate €250 or more, and you’re a taxpayer residing in Ireland, it’s possible to increase the value of your donation by an extra 45% at no extra cost to you.

Donation in Lieu of Flowers
If you or someone close to you have had a personal experience of end-of-life/palliative care you might consider making a donation to our work in lieu of flowers. This special gesture will have a lasting impact on the lives of others for years to come.
If you would like to make a request for donations to us, you can let family and friends know about your decision by including some information in the death notice for your loved one. An example of the words you might use is:
“We kindly request donations in lieu of flowers to be sent to Irish Hospice Foundation, Morrison Chambers (4th Floor), 32 Nassau Street, Dublin 2, D02 YE06. Tel: 01 679 3188; www.hospicefoundation.ie”.

Collections at a Funeral or Service
Gathering to remember the life of a someone at a funeral or memorial service is an emotional time. Holding a collection can be a positive and comforting way of giving thanks for this life by helping to shape the future of end-of-life, palliative and bereavement care throughout Ireland.
We can provide donation envelopes for distribution to family and friends for their donations.
All donations or collections can be returned to us in 2 ways
- cheque, postal order or bank draft made payable to Irish Hospice Foundation.
- online donation.
In order for us to acknowledge your gift to us, please add your full contact details or let us know by telephone, email or post that you have made the lodgment. Your funeral director will also be happy to help with your request for donations us by sending any donations received via the funeral home directly to us.

Sending a sympathy card is a meaningful way of letting someone you care about know they are in your thoughts during this difficult time. Remember Me Tree
By planting a Remember Me Tree, a person’s memory can live on through a compassionate act that lasts a lifetime and supports the work of Irish Hospice Foundation. A tree is planted and a certificate is posted to your chosen addressee, confirming the tree species selected and that you have made a donation on behalf of the person being honoured. €105 (price includes tree planting, certificate and a €40 donation to IHF) More info here
