The Design & Dignity team

John Browner

John is Assistant National Director for HSE Estates. An engineering graduate, with wide experience in the private sector, John joined HSE Estates in the mid 1990s and for the last ten years has managed the HSE’s Capital Programme.

Mary Lovegrove

Mary is the Manager of the Design & Dignity Programme. With a background in nursing she has over 13 years’ experience in project management, service redesign and culture change programmes. She joined the Irish Hospice Foundation in 2008 and was formerly the Manager of the Hospice Friendly Hospitals Programme.

Michael O’Reilly

Michael is the Chair of the Design & Dignity Project Advisory Group. He is a lawyer with an extensive background in legal practice, business, political consulting and the arts. Michael served for ten years as a board member of the Irish Hospice Foundation, for six of those years as Chairperson. Michael is currently working on the government’s Creative Ireland Programme

Ronan Rose Roberts

Ronan has been working with the Design & Dignity Programme since 2010. In 2015, Ronan’s design for the new mortuary at Sligo University Hospital was awarded Healthcare Building Project of the Year by the Irish Healthcare Centre. Other Projects include the complete renovation and extension of St Brigid’s Hospice, Curragh, Co Kildare and the renovation of a ward in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, funded by Teenage Cancer Trust. Ronan is a member of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) and served on RIAI council from 2009 – 2012.
