IHF are proud partners of Palliative Care Week 2023, which is hosted by the All-Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care (AIIHPC). The theme for 2023 was Palliative Care: Living for Today, Planning for Tomorrow.
Palliative Care Week aims to raise awareness about what palliative care is and how it can be used to plan future care needs while also supporting people with life limiting illness and those close with them to live as well as possible.
Working with partners and colleagues across the palliative care sector and with other organisations and individuals interested in health and wellbeing, AIIHPC has facilitated an annual Palliative Care Week since 2014.
IHF hosted a lunchtime webinar which focused on sharing information about palliative care and IHF’s Think Ahead Planning Pack. If you missed it, you can watch it back below.
Speakers and presentations in this year’s webinar include:
Think Ahead: Future Care Planning for Patients and Loved Ones
Speaker: Valerie Smith, Public Engagement Lead, IHF
Embracing the Future: A Conversation About the Different Levels of Palliative Care and How to Plan with Those We Care For.
Speaker: Sharon O’Brien, Regional Lead, CHO 8, Caru Programme
About Palliative Care
Palliative care is holistic care that focuses on relieving pain and other symptoms when you have a serious illness, regardless of age, diagnosis, or stage of illness. This type of care aims to improve the quality of life for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
