Caru is a continuous learning programme developed by Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF), in partnership with All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care (AIIHPC), and the HSE.
Our aim is to support and empower nursing homes and their staff in the delivery of palliative, end of life, and bereavement care, leading in turn to enhanced quality of life for residents, a good death, easing the bereavement process for their families. Shaped by a spirit of compassion for people in their care, it is underpinned by expertise, experience and research, to support and empower nursing homes.
Caru Regional Network Events
Each Regional Lead will host a series of in person networks (free of charge) in your CHO. The purpose of the Networks is to provide ongoing support and education in palliative, end of life and bereavement care for staff. The networks will provide a platform for staff to develop both professionally and personally while also providing opportunities to share learning, offer peer support, network and engage with specialist and experts in the area of palliative and EOLC.
We are delighted to share the details of our first Regional Networks on the Caru Programme for CHO 7 and CHO 4. There will be network events hosted in all CHO’s over the coming months.
