Pledge to Plant FAQs

Pledge to Plant 2022

How do I get my free Pledge to Plant Pack?
You register with us here: www.hospicefoundation.ie/pledgetoplant and we will post it to you.  Or you can email [email protected] or call us during office hours on 01 679 3188.

How does the appeal work?
You register for a pack and start planting your flowers, plants, herbs and /or vegetables. In June you select a day to sell your plants to family, friends and/or colleagues to raise funds for Irish Hospice Foundation. It is that simple!

Do I have to grow all my own plants to sell in June?
No! We will send you seeds to get started but you can ask friends and family to donate plants, flowers, produce or plants. It is up to you. If you know a budding gardener the chances, are they will have spare cuttings or seedlings that they would be delighted to give to you for your sale. You can also ask people to bring plants as well as buying them.

What does a plant sale look like?
It can be a simple sale at work where colleagues share and buy each other’s plants and flowers, or it can be an elaborate garden party.  It is a little bit like a coffee or tea party but with plants, flowers, vegetables, and herbs for sale instead of cake!

Where do I hold my plant sale?
Choose a place that works for you – you could have a plant sale in your own garden if you wish, with your friends, family, and neighbours. Or, you could decide to hold it at work, at school or at with a local community group.  You may need to bring others along to help you and ask permission at the venue.

How do I set up a Fundraising page?
If you would like to encourage people to support you online you can set up a fundraising page on iDonate: www.idonate.ie/pledgetoplant

How will the money I raise help Irish Hospice Foundation?
Being part of Pledge to Plant raises vital funds to support our work in end-of-life and bereavement care.  We will be putting funds towards services like our Nurses for Night Care programme, Caru and our Bereavement Support Line.

Can I have extra materials?
If we have spare packs, we will be happy to send another to you. Feel free though to photocopy the contents you have received or email Emma at [email protected] and we will send you soft copies of the materials you need. We are also interested to hear any feedback so if you would like to see anything in future packs let us know – we are open to new ideas to improve our appeal.
