Description
During the pandemic, our expertise was in demand more than ever. Forum 2021 shared what we and international experts learned from this most demanding of times. It took place online on Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th October 2021.
The theme was ‘Are we the same? The art of losing and building back better’. Both days began with a scene-setting keynote, while each afternoon offered an opportunity to explore a narrower focus through parallel breakout sessions where short presentations were followed by a panel discussion.
Speakers: Dr. Mike Ryan (WHO), Kevin Toolis, Dr. Lauren Breen, Lucy Selman, Joseph Behan, Gordon Caldwell, Paul Gregan, Orla Keegan, Amanda Roberts, Breffni McGuinness, Rebecca Lloyd, Dominic Campbell, Laura Doyle, Bettina Korn, John Fitzsimons and more
Day 1 challenged our thinking about dying. We looked at the way we care for people at the end of life and what is new, what is innovative, and what is emerging from the pandemic. What should every single one of us know about understanding and planning for the end of life?
Day 2 brought us together on grief and bereavement. We concentrated on grieving and coping with loss, individually and as we return to work. We learnt from both personal experience and professional engagement.
