Outside organisations provide relevant information for carers and the people for whom they care, and for people who have been bereaved. Listed below are useful resources and publications from other organisations.
Ireland is a national network of voluntary organisations that work to support family carers. Their publications
include research reports, organisation newsletters, fact sheets and overview reports. Also available are information resources aimed at providing practical support and information for carers.
The Irish Cancer Society
publishes a range of information leaflets
for people with cancer and their carers/family members.
The Irish Red Cross
has published a Carers' Handbook
providing practical information for carers.
is a free, quarterly online magazine aimed at family carers.
The Citizens Information Board
has published a guide
supporting individuals who have been bereaved. The guide provides an overview of matters to be dealt with following a death, and the legal and financial issues that may arise.
Marie Curie Cancer Care
is a UK charity dedicated to the care of people with terminal illnesses. Available on the website are guides
for patients, carers and families of people with terminal illnesses.
The European Association for Palliative Care
is a non-governmental organisation promoting palliative care. Available on their website are numerous research publications
providing international coverage on palliative care.
