Job Title: Fundraising Executive

Reports to: Corporate & Events Fundraising Manager

Overall Job Purpose:

This is strategic role within the IHF Fundraising’s Department to ensure that the IHF continue to secure vital funding income from Trusts & Foundations available in Ireland, Europe & Overseas. This is key part of our fundraising, with a focus on written applications for funding and report-writing where successful. This role also includes responsibility for our Community Fundraising income stream which sees support come from individuals, groups etc. The role also covers our processing orders and fulfillment from our online shop and small number of retail products.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Actively research Trusts and Foundations with criteria fitting the IHF, completing applications for funding and submitting in a timely fashion.
  2. Accurate and timely reporting to supporting trusts and foundations as required.
  3. To maintain and develop a working calendar that ensures all income opportunities that fit the IHF criteria for approaching charitable trusts, foundations and statutory funds in Ireland & Europe are maximised.
  4. To work towards achievement of the Trusts & Foundations, community fundraising and retail targets. .
  5. Take responsibility for ensuring positive relationships with our community fundraising supporters so they have materials and help as needed and a presence at events if necessary.
  6. Deal with enquiries regarding our retail products and fulfil orders made through our online shop.
  7. Preparation of Team Meeting Income reports and the preparation & distribution of minutes from Team meetings.

Other Responsibilities:

  1. Manage “text” fundraising.
  2. Deal with generic fundraising queries where appropriate
  3. Support fundraising events as required – which may require out of office hours support.
  4. Support Director of Fundraising where required.
  5. Keep up to date with legislative requirements and codes of practice for fundraising generally.
  6. Work across departments to maximise effectiveness of campaigns.
  7. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
  8. Undertaking reasonable tasks or duties as directed and required by the Corporate & Events Manager.

Skills/ Qualifications required:

  • Educated to 3rd level qualification, desirable.
  • Experience in Trust & Foundations and/or Corporate CSR writing and submitting applications.
  • Proven experience working in a fundraising role or similar, with accountability for financial targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and very strong written English.
  • Self-motivated and can demonstrate experience of structuring their own workload and timelines.
  • Ability to multi-task and take on different roles depending on the demands of The IHF.
  • Experience of using admin systems and databases (Raisers Edge - preferable).
  • IT Skills to include Microsoft Office/Excel/PowerPoint & knowledge of Social Media, FB etc.

Other Information:

  • Salary will be commensurate with experience.
  • Confirmation of Post is subject to 2 satisfactory References.
