Never Forgotten Launches

in-memory-of-2021

Our Never Forgotten 2021 campaign launches today to remember those you’ve loved and raise funds for Irish Hospice Foundation.

This year, on the run up to Christmas, we continue to be a nation united in grief. We have launched our annual Never Forgotten appeal to raise money to support our bereavement services including our Bereavement Support Line – the free national service, 1800 80 70 77, available Monday-Friday, 10am-1pm.

The grief felt by so many over the last 22 months cannot be underestimated. Clare Martin, Individual Giving Manager at IHF, commented:

“Grief is difficult all year round but at Christmas it is particularly hard. We want to pause and remember those who have died and also show our support for those grieving. Our volunteers on our Bereavement Support Line are answering calls from people who have been recently bereaved but also those whose loved one may have died 1, 5, 10 years ago and are finding it particularly difficult.”

Carrie Haskins, a supporter of IHF is facing her first Christmas without her Mum, Frances

“I learned of Mum’s death, from COVID-19, when I was still in the hospital after giving birth to my baby girl. It has been awful, so unexpected and shocking for us all.”

Carrie is a passionate supporter of IHF and is hoping people will donate in memory of their loved ones this Christmas.

“Every donation helps. I really feel that Mum would want me to do this. I don’t know how we’ll get through the next few weeks but I know we will. Mum loved Christmas and we’ll remember her in everything we do.”

The Never Forgotten Appeal runs right up to the end of December. By donating, you can make a real difference to those who are bereaved and those who support them in these exceptional times.
