Active Challenges are a great way to raise funds and have some fun in the process. We are very grateful to have wonderful fundraisers that have taken on super challenges in support of IHF. Here are just a few to inspire you with your own challenge.

Long Distance Cycle
Long-term IHF supporter, Billy Parker’s personal challenge was an epic 3,500km coastal cycle. Starting from the Forty Foot, Sandycove on Monday 1st May 2023, he worked his way clockwise around the edge of Ireland raising much needed funds for our work.
Running
Sean Murphy took on the incredible challenge of running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. Sean raised an amazing €2,950 on his Just Giving Page in support of our work.
Walking / Hiking
Your walking / hiking challenge can be as ambitious as you decide e.g. 100k in a month / Climb a mountain / 10,000 steps a day for a week. Be inspired by the staff at Forsa who took on a ‘4 Peak Challenge’ to scale the highest mountains in Ireland. Or the wonderful Jennifer Chard who, rain or shine, and with her baby Doireann in tow in her buggy, ran 10km everyday for 10 days through the mountains and hills of Wicklow and raised a whopping €1,287 for IHF.

Static Cycle
The amazing Paul Smith spent 6 hours in the saddle in Swords Pavilion cycling and fundraising for IHF
The team at Siro did a group ‘gigaspin’ raising an incredible 10k for IHF!
Indoor Rowing
Malcom Murray set himself the challenge of rowing one million meters on his indoor rowing machine. Malcolm originally set himself the target of completing this in 12 months but he smashed this target and completed it in seven months and raised an amazing €6,486.
Yoga
Our wonderful fundraiser Laura held Vinyasa Yoga sessions online via Zoom One donation will give you access to the session and accepted donations for IHF via idonate.ie
Massage
Almost qualified reflexology and holistic massage students held student clinics offering discounted sessions at Golden Egg Holistic in Portlaoise and donated the proceeds to IHF. Tickets were set up and sold via Ticket Tailor.
Synchronised Swimming
The wonderful Donna Cooney and her team of synchronised swimmers trained hard for several months during the summer of 2021 for a performance at the Clontarf Baths. Donna fundraised for both Irish Hospice Foundation and St Francis Hospice raising almost €3k!
